Hello, Expecting Mama! The preparations are in order for your little one’s arrival — some of the most exciting days preparing and wondering who they will be! As you make plans and preparations for your baby’s arrival, you’re probably facing the ever impending question of an expecting mom: “but how do I plan for _________ (literally anything!) around this little ones arrival?”. In this case, you might be asking “how do I go about scheduling a newborn session despite the unpredictable arrival?”. Sweet Mama, I’ve got you covered with my simple, stress-free system!
1. Scheduling A Newborn Session is Based on Your Due Date
A spot for your newborn session is reserved on my calendar based on your due date! I limit newborn bookings each month to ensure availability for every session, no matter when each baby arrives. This gives me flexibility, so you never have to worry about my availability once you’re booked!
2. An Official Date is Selected After Baby’s Arrival
Once baby arrives and you’ve settled in, send me a quick message within a few days to let me know! I’ll send you some upcoming dates of availability so we can find the best time for your session. The ideal time to for a newborn session is the 10-14 days after arrival for sweet, swaddled images. However, if it doesn’t work out to do them in that time frame, do not stress! We can still create beautiful and heartfelt images together when the time is right.
3. Communication Is Key
The most important thing is to keep me updated when baby arrives so we can secure a date for your session! I know those first few days are a whirlwind — that is why I try to make it simple, just a quick email is all it takes! I’ll guide you through everything, from preparing your home to choosing outfits, so you can relax and enjoy newborn snuggles.
A newborn session allows you to relax and soak in all the beauty around you—your new baby, growing family, and the wonderful things your body has done (and is doing!) to create and sustain A LIFE! Is it not amazing?! I’ll never get over it! One of the greatest things we get to do as women!
Although scheduling a newborn session may seem tricky, booking in advance and staying in touch after birth help ensure a relaxing and beautiful session where I preserve all the sweet moments.
